The first Father’s Day took place in Spokane, Washington on
June 19, 1910. Originally created by Sonora Dodd as part of the Woman’s
Christian Temperance Union as a protest against drunkenness, Father’s Day
gradually grew into an annual celebration of fathers and fatherhood in the
United States and around the world. You can celebrate Father’s Day 2022 (the
100th anniversary of this national holiday) with your own celebration or party,

children and grandparents to get together during holidays. All major hotels are
booked out weeks before the celebration and people gather on the streets
looking at balloons, flowers and gifts. A number of major football matches also

families while they are celebrating fathers as well.

adulation, women in India have started celebrating their day on a grand scale.

Father's Day 2022 Pakistan
What was once a small celebration of dads in the United
States and elsewhere has blossomed into a global event, more popular than
Mother's Day. In Pakistan, it is the government's responsibility to inform its
citizens of important and timely events (the more recent event being the 2026
World Cup), so they declared 2022 would be the year Pakistan celebrated its
first Father's Day. Public Service Announcements were released on every radio
station in Islamabad and advertisements were run throughout all major
television networks. The day was also declared an official holiday by the Chief
Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif. Surprisingly, many Pakistani men have
responded positively to these efforts and see celebrating their father as part
of their cultural heritage.
